West Recruitment Consulting in Sydney, NSW, AU is seeking an experienced FP&A Analyst/Senior Analyst for a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will drive reporting and analysis for a national operations portfolio, turning large datasets into actionable business insights.

Reporting to the Commercial Finance leadership, you will focus on forecasting, KPI reporting and partnering with commercial teams. A CA/CPA and strong Excel/SQL skills are preferred; hybrid work setup available.

Qualifications

• Strong FP&A / commercial finance experience.
• Advanced Excel with high-volume data handling.
• Experience with Power Query, SQL is necessary.
• Exposure to Power BI / TM1 / IBM Planning Analytics is a plus.
• Finance or accounting background; CA / CPA preferred.
• Autonomous, proactive, quick learn speed.
• Experience in large, complex environments (industrial/FMCG/ASX-listed).

Responsibilities

• Support reporting across a national business vertical.
• Analyse large, raw datasets from multiple systems.
• Deliver KPI and value driver reporting for national operations.
• Support commercial partners and state managers with timely data.
• Embed reporting processes and cadence post-change.
• Contribute to forecasting and planning cycles including capex.

A national business currently listed on the ASX is seeking an experienced FP&A Analyst / Senior Analyst to join the team on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract. This role sits within a large, operationally complex business and will support a national operations portfolio. This is a strong opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who is highly capable with large data sets, comfortable working in a changing environment, and able to operate with a high level of independence from day one.

Your New Role

Reporting into the Commercial Finance leadership team, you will help drive reporting, analysis and process support across a national business unit. The focus of the role is less about technical accounting and more about turning complex operational data into meaningful reporting and business insight.

Key Responsibilities

• Support reporting across a national business vertical
• Analyse large, raw transactional data sets from multiple systems and convert them into usable reporting outputs
• Deliver KPI and value driver reporting across national operations
• Support commercial business partners and state managers with accurate and timely data
• Assist with embedding reporting processes and cadence following recent business change
• Contribute to forecast and planning cycles, including future capex and forecast support

About You

To Succeed In This Role, You Will Bring

• Strong FP&A / commercial finance experience
• Advanced Excel capability and confidence working with high-volume data
• Experience with Power Query, SQL is necessary for success in this role
• Exposure to Power BI / TM1 / IBM Planning Analytics will be highly regarded
• A finance or accounting background; CA / CPA completed preferred
• The ability to work autonomously, show initiative and get up to speed quickly
• Experience in a large complex environment within the industrial, FMCG, or other large ASX-listed / heavy-asset environments will be highly regarded
