Job summary

Byron Thomas is seeking an FP&A Analyst in Sydney with 3+ years post qualification experience. The role covers month end close, board reporting packs, and budgeting/forecasting, with strong business partnering across senior stakeholders.

You will drive the close, prepare analytical insights, support scenario modelling, and contribute to audit and statutory processes in a hybrid Sydney workplace. Advanced Excel and SAP skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Post-qualification experience of roughly 3+ years in management accounting, financial reporting, business partnering, or audit.
• Hands-on month end close, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
• Experience budgeting and forecasting support at analyst level.
• Proficiency in Excel; SAP experience valued.
• Clear communicator who partners with non-financial stakeholders.
• Autonomous operator in a small team, able to collaborate across time zones.
• Media, technology, or listed company exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• - Drive timely month end close and management reporting packs.
• - Prepare board materials and supporting financial analysis for internal stakeholders.
• - Build and maintain budgets and forecasts, including variance and trend analysis.
• - Partner with senior leaders and operations on performance and business cases.
• - Support scenario modelling and process improvement across reporting and accounting.
• - Assist statutory accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and group month end.
• - Liaise on tax submissions and AP, Payroll, and AR close support as required.
• - Contribute to half year and full year audit and listed entity reporting processes.

The Role

• - Drive timely month end close and management reporting packs
• - Prepare board materials and supporting financial analysis for internal stakeholders

The Candidate

• - Approximately 3 or more years post qualification in management accounting, financial reporting, business partnering, or audit

• - Comfortable with budgeting and forecasting support at analyst level
• - Advanced Excel; SAP proficiency highly regarded
• - Clear communicator who partners well with non financial stakeholders
• - Autonomous operator who thrives in a small team and cross time zone collaboration
• - Media, technology, or listed company exposure preferred
