Job summary

Alliance Connect in Carrum Downs, near Melbourne, seeks a hands-on Foundry Worker to support sand and gravity die casting operations. You will prepare sand moulds, operate power tools, and help produce quality castings while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have some foundry experience, can follow written instructions, and are comfortable with manual labour. On‑the‑job training is provided with opportunities to grow within a closely‑knit, family‑run team.

Qualifications

• Experience in sand casting or gravity die casting.

Responsibilities

• Perform all functions needed to prepare sand moulds ready for casting or die casting parts in aluminium.
• Using machines/handheld tools to neatly fett le castings including bandsaws, linishers and angle grinders.
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
• Maintaining a safe and reliable work environment.
• Working with team leaders to ensure production requirements are met.
• Assist in other areas of the foundry if required.

Foundry Worker (Sand / Gravity / Aftercast)

Alliance Connect is a non ferrous foundry, based in Carrum Downs, South East of Melbourne.

We produce sand, gravity and low pressure castings in aluminum, bronze, cast iron. We supply these parts to a number of different industries (automotive, industrial, medical, transport, local government, art).

Alliance is a family run business with approximately 25 employees, we are looking for someone to join our team.

Depending on the candidate and their previous experience / skills - this role may involve sand moulding, manually pouring molten metal into dies and other general tasks to assist with the production of castings including the use of bandsaws, linishers and other handheld tools.

This role will suit an applicant with some relevant industry experience, however on the job training will be provided as required to the successful application.

The work is Monday - Thursday. Start time is 6.15am - 3.30pm. One Friday is an RDO the alternate Friday work opportunity would be by mutual agreement and would involve a six hour day finishing at 12.15.

Your responsibilities:

Performing all functions needed to prepare sand moulds ready for casting or die casting parts in aluminium

Using machines / handhelds tools to neatly fettle castings including bandsaws, linishers and angle grinders

Ensuring all work is completed is to a high standard

Maintaining a safe and reliable work environment

Working with team leaders to ensure production requirements are met

Assist in other areas of the foundry if and when required

Your Skills & Experience:

Sand Casting or Gravity Die Casting Experience

Competent with using powered hand tools

Experience in foundry operations highly regarded

Must be able to follow and apply written instructions accurately

Must be able to work safely

A background in manual work is highly desirable
