Job summary

Barramayil Primary School, opening in 2027, is located about 35–40 minutes from the Melbourne CBD on Wurundjeri land. As a foundation classroom teacher you will help set up high-quality teaching programs, build strong relationships with students and families, and shape a growing, inclusive school culture.

The school will be culturally diverse with many languages spoken. Staff collaborate to implement consistent practices, wellbeing, and a welcoming environment for learning and growth.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated capacity to design purposeful learning experiences that understand how children learn, build deep understanding and mastery of skills and encourage students to be active in their learning.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others, value strengthening your content knowledge and instructional practice whilst committed to a shared teaching approach that supports all learners and strengthens relationships across the learning community.
• Demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every student is known, valued, and empowered to grow.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students;
• Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school;
• Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal;
• Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings; staff meetings; camps and excursions;
• Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
