Job summary

Berry Street in Shepparton is seeking a Foster Care Case Manager to support children and young people in care, coordinating day-to-day needs and supervising foster carers. The role focuses on trauma-informed practice and partnerships with stakeholders to achieve stable, nurturing placements.

You will manage placement identification, coordination, and ongoing support, aligning with therapeutic foster care approaches.

Qualifications

• Experience in case management, foster care, child and family services.
• Strong trauma-informed practice and child safety knowledge.
• Ability to build relationships with children, carers and stakeholders.
• Excellent advocacy, communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex service environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Youth Work, Welfare, Community Services, or Diploma with 3 years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day needs of children and young people in care.
• Support and supervise volunteer foster carers.
• Identify and establish placements, including therapeutic foster care.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Apply trauma-informed approaches to promote healing and wellbeing.
