Job summary

ProFound People Pty Ltd in Sydney is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to sit with a partner team across APAC, owning data pipelines, integrations, and dashboards that translate model outputs into actionable insights for real-world operations.

You will work on-site with a client, shaping how the model changes outcomes, while learning the client’s operations and feeding field learnings back into the core product. A fast-paced, high-impact role with equity and relocation support is offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building and running production software.
• Hands-on experience with data pipelines and integrations in messy, real environments.
• Enough front-end ability to build a clean, working dashboard yourself.
• Confidence working directly with clients or users, and the communication skills to earn their trust over time.

Forward Deployed Engineer | $200k-$300k+ Equity | Data Pipelines & Integrations, ML, AI Most AI companies are racing to automate tasks people already do. This one is building models that can forecast and influence complex real-world systems, problems that even the best human experts can’t solve today.

They are well funded, research-led, and opening a hub to launch their first long-term partnership in Asia-Pacific.

They are now hiring a small group of engineers who will be the company’s face, and its hands, on the ground with that partner.

You will sit inside the partner's world for months at a time learning how their operations really work, finding where the model can change outcomes, and building whatever is needed to get it there. The tooling, integrations and approach will be shaped by you, and what you learn in the field will feed directly into the core product.

Forward Deployed Engineer Responsibilities:

• Building and running the data flows and system connections that bring partner data and model outputs together
• Shipping practical interfaces and dashboards so decision makers can see and act on results

Forward Deployed Engineer Requirements:

• Around three or more years building and running production software since graduating, typically in backend, full-stack or ML engineering
• Hands-on experience with data pipelines and integrations in messy, real environments
• Enough front-end ability to build a clean, working dashboard yourself
• Confidence working directly with clients or users, and the communication skills to earn their trust over time
• A clear picture of where your career is heading, and why each move so far has taken you there

Backgrounds that tend to fit well:

• Early engineers at venture-backed startups
• Client-embedded or field engineering teams
• Engineers from infrastructure, government technology or physical-world data businesses.
