Job summary

JK Personnel is partnering with a local plant and equipment hire business to recruit for a Forklift Operator / Yard Hand at the Ballarat site. The role involves material handling, order preparation, and ensuring a safe, organised yard environment.

Successful candidates will hold a LF forklift license, bring prior stores/yard experience, and demonstrate the ability to follow safety protocols while working independently in a hands-on, varied role at our client’s Ballarat location.

Qualifications

• Must have LF forklift license and proven prior experience.
• Experience in stores/yard hand roles is highly beneficial.
• Ability to follow safety standards and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with a strong work ethic.
• Mechanical mindset preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload and move equipment, materials and stock safely around the yard using forklifts and other machinery.
• Prepare customer orders, assist with dispatch activities and ensure products are ready for collection or delivery.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe yard environment, including general housekeeping and equipment checks.
• Assist customers and drivers with pickups.
• Conduct routine stock control tasks, including receiving, storing and relocating inventory.
