Job summary

Programmed Maintenance Services currently seeks a reliable and safety-focused Forklift Operator to join our Wollert, VIC manufacturing site. This casual role covers an 38-hour week with afternoon/night shifts from 5:00 PM to 4:00 AM, and involves forklift-based duties with some manual handling.

You will operate a forklift for the majority of the shift, move packs of bricks, assist with general tasks, and maintain quality and safety standards in a busy kiln and manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Current LF Forklift Licence is essential.
• Previous forklift operating experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
• Physically fit and comfortable performing manual handling duties when required
• Ability to safely move and handle packs of bricks
• Reliable, punctual and committed to workplace health and safety
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise and heat
• Willing to work the advertised shift and overtime as required
• Full Australian working rights
• Able to complete pre-employment medical requirements if requested

Responsibilities

• Operating a forklift for approximately 85% of the shift, primarily moving packs of bricks between designated areas
• Working across different areas of the kiln and manufacturing facility
• Assisting with general manual duties for approximately 15% of the shift
• Topping up boards and wrapping packs of bricks as required
• Setting up and operating machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures, where required
• Inspecting products and ensuring quality standards are maintained
• Following workplace health, safety and environmental procedures
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work environment
• Communicating effectively with team members to ensure the safe and efficient movement of products
• Completing production records and other documentation as required
