Job summary

SCT Logistics is seeking casual Forklift Operators based at our Parkes, NSW depot with weekend work available. You will load/unload freight, restrain loads, palletise, and ensure safe operation of counterbalance forklifts in a busy intermodal setting.

You will report to the Rail Operations Manager and participate in pre-start checks, reporting damages, and maintaining a clean, compliant warehouse environment. Join a safety‑driven team with 50+ years of industry presence.

Qualifications

• Current LF High Risk Work licence is required.
• Experience operating a forklift in a transit warehouse.
• Knowledge of load restraint procedures.
• Understanding of Chain of Responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight from trucks, trailers, containers, and rail wagons.
• Sort and check freight against customer delivery paperwork.
• Restrain loads according to the National Load Restraint Guide.
• Palletise and pack loads for transport.
• Operate a counterbalance forklift safely.
• Perform vehicle pre-start checks and report damage.

SCT are looking for casual Forklift Operators based out of our depot in Parkes, NSW with weekend work available too!

Reporting to the Rail Operations Manager, the position includes the following responsibilities:

• Load and unload of trucks, trailers, containers, and rail wagons
• Sort and check freight against customer delivery paperwork
• Restrain loads as per the National Load Restraint Guide
• Palletise and pack loads
• Handle general and non standard freight
• Counterbalance forklift operation
• Heavy lifting and dunnage duties
• General Cleaning duties
• Securing and restraining loads in a safe manner as per operational requirements
• Perform vehicle pre-start checks
• Report all damage freight and shortages via the exception reporting process
• Perform general housekeeping of trailers, wagons and SCT’s premises
• Complying with the Warehouse Traffic Management Plan
• Ensure compliance with all of SCT’s policies, procedures and applicable state and federal legislation.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Current LF High Risk Work license.
• Experience operating a Forklift in a transit warehouse.
• Transporting freight in a safe and efficient manner.
• Knowledge & experience with load restraint procedures.
