Job summary

Strait Link is hiring a Forklift Operator/Truck Driver at our Hobart depot. The role involves safely moving freight, loading/unloading vehicles, and preparing shipments for dispatch while adhering to strict safety standards.

You will work in a fast-paced team environment, with a focus on accuracy and timely delivery. A Forklift Licence and HR Licence are mandatory, with HC Licence preferred, and full working rights in Australia are required.

Qualifications

• Mandatory forklift licence and HR licence.
• Experience in freight, logistics or transport.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to follow procedures.
• Good teamwork and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Safely loading and unloading vehicles and trailers.
• Scanning, sorting and reconfiguring freight as required.
• Re-palletising and preparing freight for shipping and linehaul movements.
• Ensuring accurate and timely freight distribution.
• Working to operational deadlines and following site procedures.
• Identifying and reporting damaged freight in line with process.
• Applying safe load restraint practices, including correct use of straps and equipment.
• Maintaining strict adherence to safety and compliance standards.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• A current and valid Forklift Licence (mandatory)
• A currentHRLicence (mandatory)
• A current HC Licence (Preferred)
• Experience in a freight, logistics or transport setting (highly regarded)
• A proactive approach to workplace safety
• The ability to follow instructions and established processes
• Confidence working independently and within a team
• Full working rights in Australia
