Job summary

H People is seeking an AM Counterbalance Forklift Operator for a role starting with training at Dandenong before moving to Somerton. You will start early, Monday to Friday, and work in a fast-paced freight environment with a strong safety focus.

You will operate Toyota counterbalance forklifts, load/unload trucks, move palletised freight, and support general warehouse duties to hit daily loading targets. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Current LF Forklift Licence and counterbalance forklift experience.
• Experience loading/unloading trucks in freight/linehaul environments.
• Awareness of axle weights and load compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate Toyota 2.5T and 3T counterbalance forklifts.
• Load and unload linehaul trucks and move palletised freight.
• Work safely in a busy warehouse to meet daily targets; assist with general duties.

AM Counterbalance Forklift Operator

Train in Dandenong | Move to Somerton | $35.00–$36.50 per hour

Are you an experienced forklift operator looking for consistent day‑shift work with a growing logistics operation?

You’ll initially train with the team at its Dandenong facility before moving to a new Somerton site, expected to open from 1 October. This is a great opportunity to get involved early and become part of the new operation.

Your shift

• Monday to Friday
• Day shift only
• Starting between 5:00 am and 6:00 am
• $35.00–$36.50 per hour
• Ongoing work
• Potential overtime

What you’ll be doing

You’ll work in a fast‑paced freight and linehaul environment where safety and efficiency are essential.

Your duties will include:

• Operating Toyota 2.5T and 3T counterbalance forklifts
• Loading and unloading linehaul trucks
• Moving palletised and general freight
• Loading trucks safely and efficiently
• Working within axle-weight and load‑compliance requirements
• Occasionally unloading containers
• Regularly getting on and off the forklift
• Assisting with general warehouse duties
• Working with your team to meet daily loading targets

What you’ll bring

• A current LF Forklift Licence
• Strong counterbalance forklift experience
• Previous experience loading and unloading trucks
• Transport, freight, cross‑dock or linehaul experience
• An understanding of axle weights and load compliance
• Confidence working in a busy warehouse
• A hands‑on attitude—you’re happy to work off the forklift when required
• Reliable transport to both Dandenong and Somerton
• Availability for early‑morning starts
• A reliable and safety‑focused work ethic
• Willingness to complete a National Police Check
