Job summary

Cc Medical invites a Consultant Psychiatrist to join Victoria's growing forensic mental health service. You will provide specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment across secure inpatient, prison and community settings, with leadership roles and academic opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in general adult, forensic, acute or secure psychiatry.
• Confidence in risk assessment and relevant mental health legislation.
• Commitment to recovery-oriented, patient-centred care.
• Interest in teaching, supervision and service development.
• Formal forensic psychiatry experience welcome but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Providing specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment
• Advising and supporting teams managing complex presentations and risk
• Contributing clinical leadership and expertise in forensic mental health
• Supervising registrars and junior medical staff
• Supporting service development, education and training
• Participating in quality improvement and research
