RMIT Centre For Additive Manufacturing is seeking a Materials Engineer to join the forensic engineering team. The role involves performing forensic investigations, root cause analysis, and materials testing with regular travel across Queensland and Northern NSW.

Candidates should have an engineering degree and experience in failure analysis, with strong reporting and client communication skills. The position requires the ability to travel regionally and interstate, work independently, and adapt

Formación

• Undergraduate qualification in Materials Engineering or equivalent (Mandatory).
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in root cause or failure analysis (Mandatory).
• Willingness to travel locally and interstate for inspections and on-site testing.
• Solid understanding of failure analysis principles and critical thinking.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

Responsabilidades

• Perform forensic engineering and failure investigations.
• Conduct root cause analysis and material testing.
• Carry out fire investigations (training provided) and non-destructive testing (training provided).
• Engage with clients before, during and after job completion.
• Prepare and review technical reports and provide expert witness services.
