Job summary

The Recruitment Hive Pty Ltd is seeking a Forensic Data Analyst for a large Federal Government Organisation in Canberra. You will develop and maintain data extraction and analysis scripts to interrogate complex datasets.

You will analyse large volumes of data to identify trends and anomalies, support incident investigations, and contribute to data dictionaries, metadata and governance. You will collaborate with business analysts, system analysts, testers and SMEs to support system and business

Qualifications

• Experience analyzing large, complex datasets to identify trends and patterns.
• Ability to use analytical methods to investigate system, transactional, or user activity data.
• Strong report writing and ability to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working in government/regulatory environments handling sensitive information.

• Knowledge of Aged Care ICT landscape and/or data systems to support

Our client, a large, Federal Government Organisation responsible for health research, funding, promotion and regulation, require the services of a Forensic Data Analyst.

Duties

• Develop, maintain data extraction and analysis scripts to interrogate complex datasets.


• Analyse large volumes of data to identify trends, anomalies, emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement.


• Support incident and defect investigations through data analysis, root cause identification, and impact assessments.


• Contribute to the development and maintenance of data dictionaries, metadata, and documentation to improve data understanding and governance.


• Work collaboratively with business analysts, business architects, system analysts, testers, and subject matter experts to support system and business change activities.

Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated experience undertaking complex data analysis, including the identification of trends, anomalies and patterns within large and complex datasets.


• Demonstrated experience using analytical tools and techniques to investigate system, transactional or user activity data and produce evidence-based insights to support operational or regulatory decision-making.


• Demonstrated ability to communicate analytical findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences through reports, visualisations and briefings.


• Demonstrated experience working in government, regulatory, compliance, integrity, fraud, risk or assurance environments, including the management of sensitive information.
