Job summary

Victoria Police’s LOAS Division invites applications for an Ongoing Forensic Officer Level 2 (FO-2). The role rotates across units within LOAS, initially serving in the Audio-Visual Unit for one year and attending two sites in Melbourne and Macleod.

You will conduct examinations, manage case lodgements, and liaise with stakeholders to support timely forensic results. Applicants should have a tertiary qualification or relevant industry experience, experience with instrumentation, strong records

Qualifications

• Experience with operation and maintenance of relevant scientific instrumentation.
• Proven administrative skills including maintenance of detailed and accurate records.
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work autonomously and/or in a team and manage workloads to meet targets.

Responsibilities

• Examine exhibits under direction and supervision within defined parameters.
• Attend to customer enquiries and lodge exhibits using local databases and LIMS.
• Present factual evidence in Courts of Law when required.
• Attend crime scenes and assist in relevant research and development projects.
