Job summary

Manor Lakes P-12 College seeks a classroom teacher to plan, prepare and teach programs that achieve specific student outcomes. The role involves critical reflection and inquiry to improve knowledge and engagement beyond the classroom.

As experience grows, teachers contribute to school programs aligned with strategic priorities, developing staff knowledge and defining quality teaching practices. Induction and professional learning are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the curriculum and ability to teach literacy and numeracy.
• Experience planning and implementing high impact teaching strategies and evaluating learning growth.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform practice.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with students, parents, staff and community.
• Commitment to Department values and ongoing professional learning to improve teaching quality.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individuals to achieve student outcomes.
• Contribute to curriculum development and evaluation within the school.
• Undertake other duties as determined by the School Principal.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Supervise and mentor student teachers where appropriate.
