Job summary

Nepean Private Hospital is seeking a Food Services Assistant to join our hospitality team on a casual basis in New South Wales. You will assist in meal preparation, deliver patient meals and support kitchen hygiene in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires good communication, a customer-focused approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. A Working with Children check may be relevant; this position is within Healthscope’s hospital network.

Qualifications

• Experience in aged care or hospital environment (desirable).
• Authority to Work in Australia.
• Working with Children check (if relevant).
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily food preparation and basic meal assembly.
• Deliver, serve and collect patient meals and trays.
• Assist in cleaning kitchen equipment and utensils, including dishwashing.
• Participate as a constructive team member to support high-quality patient care.

The hospital is a modern 109 bed facility providing a wide range of health services to the local community since 2000 including: orthopaedics, spinal, gynaecology, ENT, plastics, urology and general surgery, endoscopy, cardiology, cardiac angiography and obstetrics. As a Food Service Assistant your responsibilities will include:

• Assist in daily food preparation and basic meal assembly
• Deliver, serve and collect all patient food requirements and meal trays
• Assist in general cleaning of kitchen equipment and utensils including dish and pot washing as required.
• Act as a valued member of an interdisciplinary team by promoting a professional and positive team culture.

• Provide high standard of customer service
• Operate in line with WHS policy & procedures
• Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients and patients
• Have demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development

• Authority to Work in Australia
