Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare, present and serve meals with consistent quality and presentation in a fast-paced setting.

You will handle prep tasks, stock and wrap foods safely, and assist customers at the register while maintaining high sanitation standards. The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability and strong English communication to support diverse healthcare and hospitality environments.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe Level 1 certification required.
• Familiar with using a cash register is an asset.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to handle heavy workload.
• Able to work independently and in a team setting.
• Good command of English, verbal and written, ability to follow instructions.
• Previous food service experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant or fast food is an asset.
• Physical ability to carry out duties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, present and serve meals with attention to quality and presentation.
• Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits/vegetables.
• Store food safely, wrap, date, and rotate stock.
• Set up items for purchase daily and assist customers at point of sale.
• Clean and maintain work areas, dispose of waste, and stock supplies.
• Operate food service equipment and follow portion control standards.
• Provide friendly, efficient service and resolve customer concerns with supervisor guidance.
