Healthscope's Nepean Private Hospital in Penrith, NSW is seeking a Food Service Assistant. You will assist in daily food preparation, deliver and collect patient meals, and help maintain kitchen hygiene as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Essential criteria include working rights in Australia, experience in aged care or hospital environment, knowledge of food safety, and a commitment to service excellence with a flexible 7-day roster.

Nepean Private Hospital is in the multi-cultural Western Sydney City of Penrith. The hospital is a modern 109 bed facility providing a wide range of health services to the local community since 2000 including: orthopaedics, spinal, gynaecology, ENT, plastics, urology and general surgery, endoscopy, cardiology, cardiac angiography and obstetrics. As a Food Service Assistant your responsibilities will include:

• Assist in daily food preparation and basic meal assembly
• Deliver, serve and collect all patient food requirements and meal trays
• Assist in general cleaning of kitchen equipment and utensils including dish and pot washing as required.
• Act as a valued member of an interdisciplinary team by promoting a professional and positive team culture.

• Provide high standard of customer service
• Operate in line with WHS policy & procedures
• Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients and patients
• Have demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development

Essential Criteria:

• Authority to Work in Australia
• Working with Children check (if relevant)
• Experience in aged care or hospital environment (desirable)
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
• Excellent time management skills
• Commitment to service excellence.
• Strong communication and customer skills
• Attention to detail
• Work well independently and within a team
• Flexible to work in 7-day roster including weekends
