Job summary

Aloft Perth, part of Marriott International, is seeking a Banquets & Events Attendant to support conferences, meetings and social events. You’ll set up and dismantle furniture, move event equipment, and work with the Food & Beverage team to deliver exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality, events, or F&B experience is advantageous.
• Current RSA certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Full Australian working rights.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently and within a team.
• Self-motivated, energetic and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
• Flexible availability, with most shifts commencing from mid to late afternoon.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the setup and pack down of conferences, meetings, social functions, and special events.
• Set up and dismantle event furniture and equipment according to floor plans and operational requirements.
• Move and position round tables, trestle tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, and other event equipment.
• Work collaboratively with team members to safely transport and arrange furniture.
• Load, unload, and store equipment in designated areas.
• Support food and beverage service during event periods, ensuring guests receive exceptional service.
• Maintain venue cleanliness and complete daily operational checklists with a strong attention to detail.
• Assist with venue turnovers and room resets within required timeframes.
• Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to workplace health and safety procedures.
• Report damaged equipment or safety concerns to supervisors.
• Build positive relationships with guests and colleagues while contributing to a collaborative team culture.
• Support the Food & Beverage team with general operational tasks as required.

About You

• Previous experience in hospitality, events, food and beverage, or a similar role is advantageous.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform repetitive lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling throughout shifts.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet setup deadlines.
• Furniture and equipment may weigh up to 30kg, requiring team lifts and the use of appropriate manual handling techniques and approved handling equipment where applicable.
