Gate Gourmet, a global leader in airline catering, seeks an energetic Food Assembly Manager to lead the Melbourne Airport food assembly operation in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You will drive Lean initiatives, coach frontline teams, and ensure safety, quality and on-time dispatch to multiple airline clients.

You will work hands-on on the floor, champion continuous improvement, and partner with cross-functional teams to optimize throughput, reduce waste and uphold stringent food safety

Qualifications

• Experience leading assembly/production in a high-volume, tightly regulated environment such as food processing or airline catering.
• Strong track record in Lean continuous improvement and standardization of processes.
• Ability to translate KPIs and performance trends into practical floor actions.
• Excellent communication, coaching and accountability across all levels of the operation.
• Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, allergen controls and regulatory requirements.

Responsabilités

• Lead from the floor with hands-on guidance to drive performance and maintain standards.
• Own end-to-end food assembly operations, balancing people, productivity, quality and service delivery.
• Coordinate labour, equipment, materials and priorities to meet throughput targets and tight airline schedules.
• Establish clear expectations, monitor performance and address issues promptly and decisively.
• Develop high-performing teams through coaching, feedback and leadership development.
• Drive productivity by improving labour efficiency, workforce utilisation, and schedule adherence.
• Collaborate with production planning, logistics and QA to ensure seamless coordination and compliance.
