QT Canberra is seeking a proactive Food & Beverage Supervisor to lead the Conferencing & Events F&B team, delivering hands‑on leadership during bump‑in, service and bump‑out while ensuring guest satisfaction. You’ll oversee setup, service and breakdown of function rooms, coordinate with Conference & Events, Kitchen and Banquets, and monitor stock and AV/furniture to ensure seamless delivery.

The role requires 1+ years in F&B or events supervision, strong communication and organisational skills,

• 1+ years in food and beverage or events supervision in hotel/conference centre.
• Proven ability to lead a team through busy event schedules.
• Comfortable with diverse event styles from conferences to large celebrations.
• Strong communication and organisational skills; decisive under pressure.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and WH&S practices.
• Flexible to work early mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Hands-on leader who leads from the front.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the Conferencing & Events F&B team, providing clear direction and hands‑on leadership during bump‑in, service, and bump‑out.
• Oversee the set‑up, service, and breakdown of function rooms and event spaces in line with event run sheets and client requirements.
• Ensure consistent, high‑quality food and beverage delivery across conferences, meetings, weddings, and social events of varying formats and sizes.
• Liaise closely with the Conference & Events, Kitchen, and Banquets teams to coordinate seamless event delivery.
• Monitor stock levels, equipment, and AV/furniture set‑ups, addressing any gaps before and during events.
• Train, coach, and roster team members, fostering a positive culture and consistent service standards.
• Respond to guest and client requests promptly, resolving any issues on the day with professionalism.
• Maintain compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and WH&S guidelines across all event spaces.
• Assist with cashiering, reporting, and administrative duties as required.

What You’ll Bring

• 1+ years of experience in food and beverage or events supervision, ideally within a hotel, conference centre, or similar high‑volume environment.
• Proven ability to lead a team confidently through busy, fast‑changing event schedules.
• Comfortable working across a variety of event styles, from corporate conferences to large‑scale celebrations.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, with sound decision‑making under pressure.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and WH&S practices.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends around the events calendar.
• A hands‑on leader who leads from the front and brings out the best in the team.
