Job summary

Silkari Mirage at Newport is seeking a guest-focused hospitality professional to support food and beverage service across breakfast, weddings, conferences, and events. You will greet guests, take orders, prepare beverages, and handle POS transactions with care.

Ideal candidates have RSA certification, barista skills, and prior experience in a busy cafe, restaurant, or hotel environment; a proactive, friendly, and flexible attitude is essential to thrive on a rotating roster including weekends

Qualifications

• RSA certificate is required.
• Barista Skills required and demonstrated experience.
• Previous experience in a fast-paced cafe, restaurant, or hotel environment.
• Strong communication skills and a positive, energetic attitude.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly, take accurate orders, and answer menu questions.
• Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including coffee and alcoholic drinks.
• Operate the POS system and handle cash or card payments.
• Clear, wipe down, and reset tables quickly between guests.
• Restock service stations, counters, and display areas.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and WHS rules.
• Set Conference Rooms as required per Banquet Event Orders.
• Set Restaurant and Terrace as per SOPs.
• Set Weddings and Receptions as per Banquet Event Orders.

Job description

Assisting in the seamless execution of food and beverage service to our guests. Including and not limited to breakfast, weddings, conferences and events.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly, take accurate orders, and answer menu questions
• Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including coffee and alcoholic drinks
• Operate the point of sale (POS) system and handle cash or card payments
• Clear, wipe down, and reset tables quickly between guests
• Restock service stations, counters, and display areas
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety (WHS) rules
• Setting of Conference Rooms as required as per Banquet Event Orders
• Setting of Restaurant and Terrace as per Standard Operating Procedures
• Setting of Wedding's and Receptions as per Banquet Event Orders

About you

• Valid New South Wales Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate
• Barista Skills Required
• Previous experience in a fast-paced cafe, restaurant, or hotel environment
• Strong communication skills and a positive, energetic attitude
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including morning's weekends, evenings, and public holidays
• Neat personal presentation and a customer-first mindset
