Job summary

The Sugar Gum Hotel in Hillside is seeking a Food and Beverage Attendant to join Pegasus Leisure Group on a casual basis. You’ll be at the heart of service, greeting guests, taking orders and delivering food and drinks with a friendly, proactive approach.

Ideal candidates bring energy, enjoy connecting with people and maintaining high standards of hospitality. RSA/RSG and Food Safety certifications are preferred or ready to obtain.

Qualifications

• RSA, RSG and Food Safe certifications or willingness to obtain.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes and seats guests with a friendly attitude.
• Takes orders and serves food and beverages efficiently.
• Clears and resets tables to keep the venue presentable.
• Maintains clean and organized service areas.
• Handles transactions accurately using POS systems.
• Works with kitchen and FOH to ensure smooth service.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Food and Beverage Attendant to join the team at Sugar Gum Hotel in Hillsideon a Casualbasis.

If you love hospitality, enjoy connecting with people, and take pride in delivering great service, you’ll fit right in! In this role you’ll be at the heart of the action serving food and drinks, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and helping make every guest’s experience one to remember.

A local landmark located in Hillside, The Sugar Gum Hotel is a favourite with the locals. The venue boasts a spacious family bistro, large kids areas to keep them entertained for hours, plus a casual area referred to as 'the social' the go-to spot for a pre-dinner cocktail or a casual catch-up with friends.

About Us

Pegasus Leisure Group (PLG) is the hospitality arm of the Melbourne Racing Club, managing a growing network of 17 pubs, clubs and hospitality venues across Victoria. Our venues include bistros, sports bars, function spaces and gaming areas, each focused on delivering great hospitality experiences within their local communities.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Welcoming and seating guests with a friendly, positive attitude
• Taking orders and delivering food and beverages efficiently
• Clearing and resetting tables to keep the venue looking its best
• Maintaining clean and organised service areas
• Handling transactions accurately using POS systems
• Working closely with the kitchen and FOH team to keep service running smoothly
• Creating a great experience for every guest

What We’re Looking For

• Great energy and a positive, can-do attitude
• A love for interacting with people and creating memorable guest experiences
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first approach
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Previous hospitality experience is a bonus, but not essential
  
• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification, or willingness to obtain
• Responsible Service of Gaming (RSG) certification, or willingness to obtain
• Do Food Safely certification, or willingness to obtain
