Qualifications

• 8+ years of appropriate aviation experience including holding an Air Transport Pilot’s Licence (Fixed Wing) or Commercial Pilot Licence (Helicopter).
• Civil or military equivalent qualifications relevant to the role (e.g. flight examiner, instructor rating, training and checking pilot).
• Supervisory experience in aviation in a key person role or similar (e.g. HOFO, HOO, HoTC).
• Understanding of Australia’s Civil Aviation Act 1988 and CASRs/CARs or similar aviation regulatory regime.

Responsibilities

• Make regulatory decisions and approvals, including delegated authority, for routine regulatory services and oversight.
• Collaborate with colleagues, provide input, share knowledge, and manage performance.
• Contribute to programs delivering CASA strategies, including approvals, compliance, and risk mitigation.
• Interact professionally with regulated entities and the public to provide guidance.
• Oversee examiner education and proficiency checks per CASA policies.
• Identify non-compliance and present findings with clear recommendations.
• Analyse industry information and develop mitigation strategies for risks.
• Support health and safety culture and consider First Nations and diverse communities.
