Job summary

Recruit4staff seeks an FLT Service Engineer to service and maintain forklift trucks and lifting equipment in Carlisle. You will perform diagnostics, safety checks and repairs across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems. Occasional travel to local sites may be required.

Permanent, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with a £36,000–£42,000 per annum salary plus a £100 call-out bonus and benefits including a van for personal use, tool insurance and 28 days' holiday.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems on lifting equipment or similar machinery.
• Level 3 Engineering qualification required.
• Valid UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, planned maintenance and repairs on forklift trucks and lifting equipment.
• Run diagnostics and safety checks to identify faults and fix electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic components.
• Order replacement parts when required and complete maintenance paperwork.

Job Role:

As the FLT Service Engineer, you will carry out servicing, planned maintenance and repairs on forklift trucks and other types of lifting equipment.

The FLT Service Engineer will run diagnostics and safety checks, identify faults and repair or replace electrical, mechanical and hydraulic components. The FLT Service Engineer will also order replacement parts when required, complete maintenance paperwork and job sheets, and occasionally travel to other local customer sites.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

• Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic servicing experience suitable for an FLT Service Engineer working on materials handling or similar equipment
• Level 3 Engineering qualification
• Full UK driving licence

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

• A Level 3 Engineering qualification specifically related to vehicles, powered access equipment, plant equipment or a similar discipline would be advantageous for the FLT Service Engineer
