Merivale invites applications for a Floristry Manager to lead Palings Flowers for a minimum 12-month maternity leave contract. Based mainly in our retail shop, you will steer day-to-day operations, oversee purchasing, stock, and the customer experience, while coordinating with the Palings Flowers management team, ensuring premium design and service across all venues.

Qualifications

• Five years’ professional floristry experience.
• Experience buying at the Sydney Flower Market.
• Excellent knowledge of flower quality, conditioning, seasonality and purchasing.
• Strong floral design skills with an eye for colour, quality and presentation.
• Understanding pricing, stock management, waste reduction and profitability.
• Experience leading, training or coordinating a small team.
• Strong organisational, administrative and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work across retail, hospitality, venue and event environments.

Responsabilités

• Lead the daily operations, presentation and performance of the Palings Flowers retail shop.
• Manage rosters, team coordination, training and ongoing development.
• Oversee customer, corporate and event enquiries from initial quote through to delivery.
• Purchase flowers and foliage from Sydney Flower Market, growers and suppliers.
• Lead large-scale installations, including staffing, logistics, bump-ins and bump-outs.
• Build strong relationships with external clients, Merivale stakeholders and VIPs.
• Maintain Palings Flowers’ visual identity across retail displays, events and installations.
• Oversee delivery vans maintenance and operation.
