Job summary

Downer is seeking a Float Operator to join the Asphalt division, based at the Clayton South depot and covering sites across the Melbourne metropolitan area. This full-time permanent role offers a competitive hourly rate plus night shift and weekend allowances, focused on safe transport of asphalt equipment.

Ideal candidates hold a current HC licence, experience moving plant and equipment, a White Card, and a strong commitment to Zero Harm.

Qualifications

• Valid HC Driver Licence required.
• Experience moving plant and equipment is highly regarded.
• White Card holder (General Construction Induction).
• Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (CoR).
• Familiar with Melbourne metropolitan area.
• Ability to work on a rotating shift roster.
• Committed to Zero Harm culture and safety.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently transport asphalt laying equipment to and from sites across the Melbourne metropolitan area.
• Support operations at the Clayton South depot.
• Collaborate with a team to ensure shifts run smoothly and safely.

Downer has an opportunity for a Float Operator to join our Asphalt division, based at our Clayton South depot. About You

• Current HC Driver Licence
• Plant and equipment moving experience is highly regarded.
• Current General Construction Induction (White Card).
• Knowledge and understanding of Chain of Responsibiilty (CoR).
• Strong familiarity with the Melbourne metropolitan area.
• Ability to work on a rotating shift roster.
• Demonstrated initiative with the ability to meet deadlines.
• A strong team player, capable of working efficiently with others.
• A committment to upholding Zero Harm culture at all times.
