Job summary

Gate Gourmet, part of gategroup, is the world's largest independent provider of airline catering and food solutions. The culinary team is growing, and we're seeking skilled Chefs to join our Sydney team.

In this role you will prepare and produce high-quality meals for airline customers, manage production schedules and ensure consistent quality while promoting a strong safety-first culture. Full Australian working rights required.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• Experience in bulk cooking/high-volume kitchens or food manufacturing.
• Strong communication skills.
• Full Australian working rights.
• Able to work 38 hours per week on a 7-day rotating roster (morning/afternoon shifts).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food items to approved specifications, recipes and production schedules.
• Ensure timely production and consistent quality across all dishes.
• Monitor ingredients and food items to minimise waste and spoilage.
• Maintain clean, safe and organised food preparation areas.
• Supervise Catering Assistants and junior team members in your section.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, sanitation and food safety standards.
• Promote and contribute to a strong safety-first culture.
