Job summary

Step Teachers is seeking Teaching Assistants for flexible short-term and long-term placements across diverse school settings. You will support pupils one-to-one and in small groups, assist teachers with engaging activities, and help maintain an inclusive learning environment.

Opportunities are paid weekly through PAYE, with safeguarding checks in line with legal requirements. DBS checks are welcome and training may be provided to support development and ensure pupil welfare across placements.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting pupils in a school setting
• Understanding of strategies for supporting children with a range of needs
• Ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff
• Patience, empathy, and adaptability

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities
• Help implement behaviour strategies in line with school policies
• Support pupils with personal care needs where required
• Promote an inclusive and positive learning environment
• Monitor and record pupil progress and communicate with teaching staff
• Contribute to wider school life during longer-term placements
