Job summary

Claro Disability Services is seeking compassionate care professionals in Canberra to support clients with complex needs in daily living, mobility, medical care, and community access. You will tailor supports to individual goals, work with families and care teams, and help clients build independence while respecting culture and consent.

Shifts are flexible to fit your life, and you’ll be backed by a supportive clinical team and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• A person-centered, warm, patient, and genuinely caring soul.
• Interest or experience in complex care, disability, and health nuances.
• Great communicator: listens well, reads cues, and adapts to different styles.
• Reliable and professional, with good note-taking and teamwork.
• Flexible and adaptable; comfortable with changing needs and shifts.
• Values fit: Energy, Nurture and Care, Act with Integrity, Listen and Connect.
• Optional but nice: Manual handling, epilepsy management, or disability-support training.

Responsibilities

• Person-centred planning: Chat with the client and advocates to understand goals and routines.
• Complex physical care: Mobility, transfers, positioning, daily tasks, and devices as outlined in the plan.
• Medical supports: Monitor changes, follow med/clinical plans, and liaise with the care team.
• Social time and participation: Provide meaningful activities and community access aligned with interests.
• Autonomy and advocacy: Support decision-making, respect consent, boost independence where possible.
• Cultural humility: Respect backgrounds, beliefs, and ways of being.
