Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice is seeking a Casual Correctional Officer for Dubbo Courts. The role is part of the Court Escort Security Unit (CESU), focusing on secure transport of inmates, headcounts, and movement monitoring with teamwork and composure under pressure.

Bordering on frontline duties, the officer will receive a 12-week paid training and a nationally recognised Certificate III in Correctional Practice.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Hold a Provisional P1 Driver's Licence.
• Be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Willing to complete Certificate III in Correctional Practice.
• Meet medical standards to be a correctional officer and have reasonable level of fitness.
• Policy on visible body art and modifications is required.

Responsibilities

• Transporting inmates as part of the Court Escort Security Unit (CESU).
• Conduct headcounts, searches and monitor movements.
• Maintain calm, clear communication and teamwork under pressure.
• Use of force is trained and applied safely and appropriately.
