Job summary

CSIRO is Australia’s national science agency seeking two Project & Portfolio Support Coordinators. You will provide strategic, operational and project management support across three programs, helping plan, coordinate and deliver complex projects with strong governance and reporting.

You’ll work with Research Directors, Group Leaders and enterprise services to monitor progress, risks and milestones, delivering timely insights and enabling successful outcomes across dispersed teams nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a medical, science or research discipline, or demonstrated PM experience.
• Ability to understand research concepts and work in research environments.
• Strong organisational skills to plan, coordinate and track activities with project teams.
• Proven ability to solve complex problems and adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to build relationships with multiple Project Leaders and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project management activities across multiple research projects, delivering within scope, timelines and budgets.
• Support Project Leaders with planning, monitoring, execution, reporting and closure.
• Monitor progress, risks, milestones and dependencies; escalate issues as needed.
• Coordinate project support requirements including contracts, procurement, equipment, and stakeholder engagement.
• Connect Project Leaders with enterprise services such as Finance, Communications and Digital Services.
• Contribute to portfolio planning, governance and reporting with quality information for decision-making.
• Build productive relationships with researchers, collaborators, clients and internal teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve project and portfolio systems and processes.
