Job summary

Transport Canberra is seeking an Inventory Parts Interpreter to ensure timely procurement, receipting, storage and distribution of bus parts. You will use TIMS to track stock, establish supplier arrangements and provide frontline support to staff, while collaborating across depots and with external partners.

The role requires flexibility for rostered shifts, a C-class licence, and a willingness to obtain a forklift licence. Prior warehousing and automotive parts experience is highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment criminal history check required.
• Pre-employment medical for the role is required.
• Driver's licence (C-class) is mandatory.
• Forklift licence (or ability to obtain) encouraged.
• Certificate III in Warehousing Operations is desirable.
• Experience in automotive parts, warehousing, or heavy vehicle maintenance is highly regarded.
• Experience with computerised inventory records systems (IMS) is desirable.
• Ability to work rostered shifts including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Rotation between depots may be required.
• Visa holders with Australian working rights may apply.

Responsibilities

• Manage the receipting, acquisition and distribution of inventory in accordance with ACT Procurement Act 2001 and Transport Canberra policies.
• Utilise TIMS to maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels.
• Establish and maintain supplier arrangements to ensure ongoing availability of parts and services.
• Provide professional front-counter support and advice to operational and maintenance staff.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance inventory management and service delivery.
