Job summary

Daracon Group in Newcastle is seeking a commercially minded Light Vehicle Fleet Manager to lead our Plant, Transport and Maintenance team, focusing on fleet optimisation and cost control.

You will drive procurement, replacement planning and asset management, ensuring safe, reliable operations and strong stakeholder collaboration across finance, procurement and operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in fleet management or asset management within civil construction, mining or transport.
• Experience managing light vehicle fleets and procurement.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and cost analysis abilities.
• Experience negotiating contracts with suppliers and service providers.
• Understanding of vehicle lifecycle costs, depreciation and replacement planning.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills; proficient in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage the light vehicle fleet budget, forecasts and expenditure.
• Monitor fleet costs, utilisation, fuel and maintenance.
• Identify cost-saving and fleet-efficiency initiatives.
• Procure vehicles, manage specifications, fit-outs, replacements and disposals.
• Prepare capital expenditure submissions and business cases.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts and service arrangements with suppliers.
• Maintain asset registers and replacement forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and policies.
