Job summary

Transdev John Holland Buses – Port Botany NSW is seeking a Service Manager to lead the maintenance team and oversee safety, reliability and compliance of one of Sydney's busiest bus fleets.

This day-shift role (6am–2:30pm, Mon–Fri) manages 35+ automotive workshop staff, budgets, supplier negotiations and continuous safety improvements, with a focus on supporting the transition to electric vehicle technology.

Qualifications

• Current NSW MVTC and TAFE Cert III Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology requirements.
• Experience leading 35+ automotive maintenance staff.
• Knowledge of heavy vehicle regulations and compliance.
• Experience managing workshop budgets and asset management.
• Experience with EV technology transition is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective management and guidance of maintenance and repair activities.
• Manage budgets and supplier negotiations to meet contract requirements.
• Ensure parts availability and monthly budget control.
• Implement and maintain Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures.
• Oversee team performance, coaching and development to improve skills.
