Job summary

Randstad is seeking a Heavy Auto Mechanic or Engineer who can step into leadership to oversee maintenance for a multi-site fleet of trucks, trailers and earth-moving equipment across NSW (Minto, Newcastle, Albury). You will manage suppliers, evaluate vehicles and drive fleet reliability, while ensuring a corporate-ready, proactive approach.

The role is office-based with a focus on leadership in a family-owned business culture.

Qualifications

• Proven background as a mechanic with leadership experience.
• Office-based technical knowledge is essential; oversight is key.
• Well-spoken, corporate-ready and proactive; thrives in a family-owned business.

Responsibilities

• Manage fleet maintenance program to maximise satisfaction while minimising costs.
• Oversee regional maintenance, conduct supplier performance reviews.
• Negotiate with service providers and resolve maintenance disputes.
• Visit sites regularly and travel to Melbourne, Albury and Newcastle as needed.
