Job summary

Westside Bus Company Pty Ltd in Redbank, Queensland, is seeking a workshop trade qualified auto electrician to join our maintenance team. You will support the workshop manager to maximise reliability and safety of the bus fleet.

The role requires hands-on work with electrical and auxiliary systems including CCTV, radios and door systems, trouble-shooting with test equipment, and performing repairs in line with manufacturer specs and applicable vehicle standards.

Qualifications

Minimum AQF Certificate III with at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3).
Experience in fleet maintenance programs.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Hold a valid MR/HR licence.

Responsibilities

Maintain knowledge of electrical and auxiliary systems fitted to the bus fleet including CCTV systems, two-way radios and door systems.
Repair and maintain electrical and auxiliary systems using test equipment to locate faults; dismantling and installing electrical components.
Install electrical equipment and components in buses and connect power-operated vehicle equipment to power supply.
Adjust engine control systems and timing, test and replace alternators, generators, voltage regulators and starters.
Fault finding, diagnosis and general repairs.
Accurate and up-to-date entry to the workshop database.
