Job summary

K&S Freighters in Melbourne is seeking an experienced allocator/scheduler to coordinate day-to-day transport operations within the dangerous goods division. The role requires strong attention to detail, problem solving and clear communication to meet customer needs and regulatory requirements.

You will join a team, manage rosters, oversee documentation, and ensure safe, efficient and compliant operations while supporting fleet delivery and servicing activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport & logistics operations.
• Proven customer service delivery and excellent communication & leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and problem solve when issues arise.
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
• Knowledge of NHVR, fatigue management and dangerous goods (desirable).
• Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Complete and monitor all documentation in a timely, accurate manner per requirements.
• Generate paperwork for daily deliveries including con notes and delivery dockets.
• Monitor rosters and scheduling to meet fatigue laws.
• Monitor onsite equipment maintenance and service requirements.
• Allocate resources and operate in a safe, cost-effective manner.
• Report delays to customers due to breakdowns, weather/traffic conditions or emergencies.
• Data entry of drivers' hours to support BFM accreditation.
• PPE issuing, monitoring and auditing.
• Documentation and investigation of incidents per K&S standards.
• Comply with all transport regulations and laws.
• Assist with vehicle servicing and inspections, documenting actions.

The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly organised allocator/scheduler to co-ordinate day-to-day transport operations within our dangerous goods division.

This is a fast-paced role requiring strong attention to detail, excellent problem solving and communication skills to ensure business needs are delivered and the customer needs are always met to a high standard.

Operating as the go-to person for fatigue management, delivery processes, customer service and monitoring of the fleet, this role offers variety and strong career development in dangerous goods setting with on-the-job training and support provided.

You will:

• Complete and monitor all documentation in a timely, accurate manner and in accordance with legal requirements and customer expectations
• Generate all paperwork required for daily deliveries including con notes and delivery dockets
• Monitor rosters and scheduling to meet compliance with driver fatigue laws
• Monitor onsite equipment maintenance and service requirements
• Allocate your resources and operate in the safest, efficient and most cost-effective manner
• Report any delays to customers due to breakdowns, weather/traffic conditions, emergencies or irregularities to ensure requirements are met
• Data entry of driver's hours to support BFM accreditation
• PPE issuing, monitoring and auditing
• Documentation and investigation of incidents as per K&S standards
• Complying with all transport regulations and laws
• Assisting with vehicle servicing and inspections, documenting all actions and recording on file

This role will also involve joining a team roster and working some weekends, so flexibility to be available on these occasions is required.

You will have:

• Experience in transport & logistics operations
• Proven customer service delivery and excellent communication & leadership skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and problem solve when issues arise
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
• Knowledge of compliance and legislative requirements regarding NHVR, fatigue management and dangerous goods- highly desirable but not required
• Exceptional organisational skills, an eye for detail and accuracy and a passion for efficiency
