Job summary

K&S Freighters is seeking a local Dangerous Goods Driver for the Parramatta, NSW area. The role involves transporting, loading, and unloading a variety of liquids, including dangerous goods, with strict safety and compliance expectations.

Training will be provided, and experience with PPE, PPE including suits and face shields is desirable. A valid DG license and MSIC enrollment are advantageous, with career development opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months of proven driving experience.
• Knowledge of Sydney metro, regional routes, and interstate driving is desirable.
• Ability to wear PPE and work safely with dangerous goods.

Responsibilities

• Transport, load and unload various liquids, both dangerous and non-dangerous.
• Complete rail terminal and wharf deliveries and pickups.
• Operate a range of specialised equipment safely and wear chemical PPE as required.
• Conduct customer deliveries locally, regionally, and interstate.
• Maintain safety, compliance and customer service as core priorities.

Whether you're already experienced in Dangerous Goods transportation, or ready to build your existing driving skills, we'll provide you with 4 weeks of comprehensive training and support for you to develop your skills and further your career.

HC & MC licensed drivers with strong driving history encouraged to apply.

About the role

• Transporting, loading and unloading a variety of classes of liquids both dangerous and non-dangerous goods.
• Completing rail terminal and wharf deliveries and pickups.
• Operating a variety of specialised equipment safely.
• Wearing appropriate PPE depending on goods being transported.
• Completing customer deliveries to our clients' customers both local metro, country and interstate.
• Maintaining a strong focus on safety, compliance and customer service is essential.

What you'll bring

• Proven driving experience around - minimum of 12mths
• Knowledge of Sydney metro, country and intestate experience - desirable but not essential.
• Strong and safe driving history
• Ability to wear required PPE Chemical suits and PPE including face shields and helmets as required
• Dangerous Goods license- desirable but can support with obtaining
• MSIC card- desirable but can support with obtaining
• A flexible mindset towards the ever-changing demands of the transport industry
• Able to work overtime when required
• Positive attitude who can deliver high quality customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
