International Flavours & Fragrances (Australia) Pty Ltd in Melbourne is seeking a Lab Technician to support seasoning flavor development and sensory evaluations. You will compound formulations, prepare samples, and handle raw materials in a GMP-compliant lab.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field and 1–2 years of lab experience, with strong MS Office skills and mathematical aptitude. Onsite role with opportunities for learning and development.

Formación

• 1–2 years experience in a Food or laboratory environment.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Solid mathematical skills for formulations, dilutions, measurements, and sample prep.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions, formulas, lab procedures and SOPs.
• Highly organized, proactive and eager to learn new technical and sensory skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities in a diverse environment.
• Ability to assess sensory characteristics of flavors and food products through tasting and evaluation.
• Commitment to safety, quality, cleanliness and lab best practices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilidades

• Support Seasoning Flavorists in developing innovative seasonings for snack and bakery applications.
• Accurately compound flavor formulations by following established processes, formulas and safety requirements.
• Measure powder flow and functionality data using specialized testing equipment.
• Ensure development samples are applied and presented to the highest standard using appropriate seasoning technologies.
• Handle, organize and prepare raw materials, including weighing, labeling and measuring physical properties.
• Maintain an efficient, well‑organized laboratory and support raw material and flavor stock transfers.
• Prepare raw materials, solutions and samples for evaluations, ensuring readiness for sensory and application work.
• Follow GMPs and other safety procedures.
