Job summary

International Flavors and Fragrances in Melbourne seeks a detail-oriented lab professional to support seasoning flavor developers and ensure accurate formulations.

You will weigh materials, follow GMP procedures, and contribute to sensory evaluation, with opportunities for training and career development. Onsite role in a collaborative team, using MS Office and data handling to support flavor development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related discipline.
• 1–2 years experience in a food or laboratory environment.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Solid mathematical skills for formulations, dilutions, measurements and sample prep.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions, formulas, and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Support Seasoning Flavorists in developing innovative seasonings for snack and bakery applications.
• Accurately compound flavor formulations by following established processes and safety requirements.
• Measure powder flow and functionality data using specialized testing equipment.
• Ensure development samples are presented to the highest standard using seasoning technologies.
• Handle, organize and prepare raw materials, including weighing and labeling.
• Maintain an efficient, well-organized laboratory and support raw material and flavor stock transfers.
• Prepare materials, solutions, and samples for evaluations and sensory work.
