Job summary

Good Shepherd Lodge Ltd in Mackay, Queensland, seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse for Kerrisdale Gardens on a fixed-term basis to cover parental leave. You will coordinate clinical care, supervise staff, administer medications, and ensure a safe, supportive environment for residents.

Must hold current AHPRA RN registration and have aged care experience. Morning shifts from Tuesday to Saturday are required; 4-month contract with above Award rates and additional staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Experience in residential aged care.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Commitment to resident-centered care and adherence to care plans.
• Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain prior to employment.
• Current Influenza vaccination or willingness to obtain, in line with QLD aged care requirements.
• Availability to work morning shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
• Supervise and support care staff in delivering high-quality care.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with care plans and clinical guidelines.
• Monitor and report on resident health status, including vital signs and changes in condition.
• Maintain accurate resident records and documentation in compliance with healthcare standards.
• Provide emotional support and reassurance to residents and their families.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job Description

This is a fixed-term, full-time opportunity for up to 4 months to cover parental leave, commencing in late June. Availability for morning shifts from Tuesday to Saturday is required.

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our clinical team at Kerrisdale Gardens on a fixed-term basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care, supervising and supporting care staff, and maintaining a safe and caring environment for residents.
