• Update the FIX specification to reflect best practices and create a Troubleshooting Playbook.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced FIX Protocol Specialist to support a short‑term (3‑4 week) engagement. This role is ideally suited to someone based in the APAC time zone (Australia preferred) who can start immediately or in early January. The specialist will lead a focused assessment, resolution, and documentation effort to strengthen our FIX integration and support an upcoming handover to internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct a full assessment and gap analysis of the current server‑side FIX implementation.
• Identify, prioritise, and document issues, producing a detailed Assessment Report.
• Resolve critical FIX issues and validate solutions through targeted testing; produce an Issue Resolution Report.
• Update the FIX specification to reflect best practices and create a Troubleshooting Playbook and related operational documentation.
• (Optional) Deliver training sessions, Q&A, and a comprehensive Handover Document for internal teams.

Ideal Candidate

• 10+ years of deep FIX protocol experience, including session management, message flows, and troubleshooting.
• Extensive server‑side/exchange‑side FIX implementation experience (beyond client‑side trading firm experience).
• Strong knowledge of FIX 5.0 SP2.
• Experience working with crypto exchanges (highly desirable).
• Ability to quickly assess complex systems and deliver high‑quality documentation within tight timelines.
