Job summary

Teterin Engineering invites applications for a 1st year Fitting & Machining Apprentice (Engineering CertIII). Based in Islington, you will learn precision engineering including engine rebuilding, machining, grinding and welding under experienced mentors.

You will grow through on-the-job and TAFE-based training, with above-award pay and a four-day work week, Monday to Thursday, plus overtime opportunities. Pre-employment medicals apply.

Qualifications

• Completed Year 12 HSC or Year 10 with good results in Maths, English and Design/Technology.
• Strong desire to learn, able to follow instructions and complete assessments.
• High attention to detail and aptitude for quality workmanship.

Fitting and Machining - First Year Apprentice

About the role

We have an exciting new opportunity for you to start your career with us as a 1st year Fitting & Machining Apprentice (Engineering CertIII).

Centrally located at our facility in Islington, you will learn a range of precision engineering techniques including

• engine rebuilding
• machining, grinding, both manual & CNC
• dynamic balancing
• ferrous and non-ferrous welding and
• metal arc spraying

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Completed year 12 Higher School Certificate or year 10 School Certificate with good results in Mathematics, English as well as Design/Technology subjects.
• A strong desire to learn, with an ability to follow instructions and a commitment to completing and passing all assessments.
• A high level of attention to detail and aptitude for quality workmanship.
• Effective interpersonal skills and an ability to build rapport.
