people2people is partnering with a respected engineering and manufacturing business in Melbourne's south-east to recruit an experienced Fitter & Turner for a long-term opportunity. You'll work in a busy workshop on a mix of manual and CNC machining, fitting and assembly, with weekday hours and a clear pathway to permanent employment.

Qualifications

• Australian-recognised Fitter & Turner trade qualification.
• Experience machining to close tolerances.
• CNC machining experience.
• Exposure to CNC programming and machine setup.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Excellent reliability and attendance record.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual centre lathes and milling machines.
• Perform manual screw cutting and precision machining.
• CNC machine setup, operation and basic programming.
• Manufacture and assemble cylinders and components.
• Prepare materials and perform steel cutting.
• Conduct quality inspections on finished parts.
• Maintain workshop equipment and cleanliness.
• Follow Lean Manufacturing and 5S practices.
• Keep a safe and organized work area.
• Work across machining, assembly and production as needed.
