Job summary

Construct Personnel is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter / Machine Installer for medium-term assignments with a family-owned business offering a great work environment. The role involves workshop assembly and occasional site installations across Melbourne and beyond.

You will assemble machinery, fit and align components, and troubleshoot mechanical issues. Travel to client sites for installations will be required, with a focus on safe operation and teamwork in a supportive workshop

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter or Mechanical Fitter.
• Broad experience across maintenance and mechanical fitting.
• Experience assembling machinery and reading engineering drawings.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to travel to client sites for installation work.
• Reliable, practical and able to work independently or in a team.

The role primarily involves assembling machines in the workshop, with opportunities to install completed machinery at client sites across Melbourne and further afield.

About the role

• Assemble, fit and align machinery and mechanical components.
• Undertake a broad range of mechanical fitting and maintenance work.
• Identify and resolve mechanical issues during assembly and testing.
• Assist with machinery installations at client sites as required.
• Work safely and contribute to a supportive workshop team.

About you

• Trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter or Mechanical Fitter.
• Broad experience across maintenance and mechanical fitting.
• Experience assembling machinery and working from engineering drawings.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working in a workshop for the majority of the assignment.
• Willing to travel to client sites for installation work when required.
• Reliable, practical and able to work independently or as part of a team.
