Job summary

Enviroconcepts International is seeking a hands-on Fitter Trade Assistant for our Ormeau, Queensland workshop. You will assemble mechanical components of water treatment systems, work with stainless steel, pipes, cables, and frame skids, and fabricate parts using common tools.

The role requires at least 3 years of mechanical or fabrication experience, a proactive team player with attention to detail, and fluent English. An open driver’s license and basic computer skills are also needed.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' hands-on experience in mechanical or fabrication work.
• Fluent English with good communication skills.
• Open driver's license and reliable transport.
• Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings.
• Competent with basic computer tasks (Word, Excel, email).

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical components of water treatment systems.
• Work with stainless steel, pressure pipe systems (uPVC), cables, and frame skids.
• Cut, drill, and fabricate parts using hand tools and machinery (drill press, bandsaw).
• Perform quality inspections on received goods and final builds.
• Support general workshop and production needs.

Enviroconcepts is a market leader in Australian-made water filtration systems. Based in Ormeau, we design, manufacture, and assemble all our products locally, delivering solutions nationwide.
We’re currently seeking a hands-on Fitter Trade Assistant who takes pride in precision, quality, and teamwork. This is a full-time role based at our Ormeau factory, available for immediate start.

What You’ll Do

• Assemble mechanical components of water treatment systems
• Work with stainless steel, pressure pipe systems (uPVC), cables, and frame skids
• Cut, drill, and fabricate parts using hand tools and machinery (e.g. drill press, bandsaw)
• Perform quality inspections on received goods and final builds
• Support general workshop and production needs

What We’re Looking For

• At least 3 years' hands-on experience in mechanical or fabrication work
• Strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and high attention to detail
• Team player with a proactive, can-do mindset
• Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings
• Comfortable using tools and workshop equipment
• Fluent English and confident communication skills
• Open driver's licence
• Competence in basic computer tasks (Word, Excel, email)

Bonus Points For

• Welding skills (any level)
• Forklift licence
• Experience in turning, milling, or bending
• Trade qualifications or equivalent experience
• Other High Risk Work Licence(s)
