Job summary

ASTAR Personnel is seeking a Trade Qualified Fitter Machinist for a casual, temp-to-perm role based in Seven Hills (NSW). The position offers $50.00 per hour and contributes to an established manufacturing team.

You will fit, assemble and maintain machinery, read drawings, and operate workshop machinery in a safe, well-organized workshop environment.

Responsibilities

Our client is a well established and respected manufacturer based in Seven Hills and is seeking an experienced Trade Qualified Fitter Machinist.

This is a temp/casual role offering ongoing work with the potential for the right candidate to secure a permanent position.

About the Role

• Fitting, assembling and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment


• Operating conventional machining equipment


• Machining and manufacturing components to specification


• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings


• Using a range of hand and power tools


• Mechanical repairs, maintenance and fault finding

To Be Successful, You Will Have:

• Trade Certificate in Fitting & Machining, Fitter Machinist or equivalent


• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment


• Strong mechanical and machining skills


• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings


• Experience operating workshop machinery


• Strong mechanical fault finding and problem solving skills


• Excellent attention to detail


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team


• Reliable work history and strong work ethic
