Job summary

Transport Engineering Solutions Pty Ltd in Newcastle is seeking an experienced Boilermaker / Mechanical Fitter to join our workshop team. You will install, inspect and service cranes and hook loaders, fabricate subframes and complete installations to Palfinger's high standards.

The ideal candidate has proven fabrication and welding skills, a Certificate III in Engineering, and the ability to read technical drawings. You will work Monday to Friday with a focus on safety, quality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical or Fabrication trade is required.
• Experience working on heavy vehicles.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Install and inspect new and used cranes and hook loaders.
• Fabricate and install subframes from design through to manufacture.
• Complete installations to Palfinger's high standards.
• Perform service and maintenance on vehicle loading cranes and hook loaders.
• Accurately complete all job documentation.
• Maintain a safe working environment and follow site policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and inspect new and used cranes and hook loaders
• Fabricate and install subframes from design through to manufacture
• Complete installations to Palfinger's high standards
• Perform service and maintenance on vehicle loading cranes and hook loaders
• Accurately complete all job documentation
• Maintain a safe working environment and follow site policies and procedures

What You'll Bring

• Previous experience in a similar industry
• Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical or Fabrication Trade (or equivalent)
• Experience working on heavy vehicles
• Strong fabrication and welding skills
• Familiarity with cranes and/or hook loaders (advantageous)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and procedures
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Proven ability to work safely and manage time effectively
• Competent in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Current driver's licence (HR preferred)
